News and Announcements
1. $900 is due to the school store on or before the 10th of November. I have already sent your $350 deposit and your applications. I will send missing information at the same time as the $.
2. Financial Aid forms were distributed. These are due to ISE on 30 Nov. Forms can also be obtained @ www.isemn.org/registration/financial-aid.html.
3. There are several travelers who have not yet provided their pictures. I sent individual e-mails to these people. Please get these picture to Mr. Dankert a.s.a.p so he can include them in the mailing with the next check.
4. Most of you already have or have applied for your passports. Excellent!
5. You are expected to be researching Berlin and Munich prior to the trip. When you come across things that you know you have to see when you are there, let Herr Knaus or myself know. As we work on the itinerary, we will try to include these items of interest. When we're in Berlin Herr Knaus and myself will organize all group activities to visit Check Point Charlie, East Side Gallery and Ku'Damm at the very least. The itinerery will include these group activities as well as unstructured time. It is during this unstructured time that your research will come in handy. Try to look for things that are unique to Berlin. Things to eat, see, do that are uniquely Berlin. For example, if you're interested in cars, is there a car museum in Berlin that has an exhibit you want to see. If you're into music, is there a music store you want to visit. If you're into shopping, are there items that you can get only in Berlin that you want to look for. This is what you're research will reveal. Same with Munich, but be mindful that our time in Munich is limited. One of our days while we're in "Munich" will actually be on the train traveling to Neuschwanstein visiting the castle, shopping for souvenirs on the way to the castle, traveling back to Munich. This is a very fun part of the trip, and allows us to see German country side that we might not be able to see otherwise. It's part of your fee structure, except for the souvenir and food purchases you make along the way. We're also scheduled for a welcome dinner in Berlin, so we can have a moment to catch our breath, decompress a little from our travels and begin preparing for our family stay.
6. Austin and Eli Henry's Dad had suggested cleaning up after the Rough Riders games as a fund raiser. Caitlyn Thomson said it's pretty easy, all you have to do is call the arena and show up after the game. It takes about minutes to and hour and you divide the money among the people who show up.
That's about all from this meeting. If you need anything, contact me mdankert@prairiepride.org. md
